Transcript van Pax8 Beyond EMEA: in gesprek met GTIA
So we're here at Pax8 Beyond in Copenhagen today, and we had a very exciting announcement this morning. So I wanna hear all about it. Well, thank you very much. So I've joined, GTA this month, and, I'm here to kick off the Managed Intelligence Alliance, which is a vendor neutral initiative housed within GTIA. The idea came together when leaders from GTIA and PACS8 got together and looked at the... And analyzed really what was needed in the industry at this point of inflection. I don't need to hold the mic, do I? No. It's fine. So... Okay. Well, we'll cut this one off. Okay. We'll start again. Alright. Is that okay? Yeah. Yeah. Sure. So you don't want me to hold the mic? No. Okay. I'm sorry. It's okay. No. No. No worries at all. No. Yeah. I I thought you passed it to me. No. It's all good. It's all good. A little bit closer again. So we're here at Pax8 Beyond EMEA in Copenhagen today, and there was a really, really exciting announcement this morning. We wanna hear all about it. Yeah. Thank you very much. So I'm I'm here as the new director of the Managed Intelligence Alliance, which is, an initiative that has been co created by GTIA and, PACS8. It was created because we're at a point of inflection in in the world where SMBs are requesting or requiring AI solutions. The pace of change in AI is so fast that even the customer doesn't quite understand what they want and what the road map is gonna be for them over the next few years. So leaders from GTIA and Pax8 decided to put together this managed intelligence alliance in order to create the standards to enable the channel, the MSP channel in particular, to service and support customers in a responsible, repeatable, sustainable, and scalable manner. Yeah. So what is what is the alliance from a concrete perspective gonna mean for the for the MSPs and for the ecosystem? Well, it's a massive trend... It's a massive moment because for the first time, we're actually gonna be applying standards, capability standards, to an industry that hasn't really been so regulated. Right? So what we're doing is that we're actually taking our fortune into our own hands as the IT channel and beginning the process of regulating ourselves. Right? So that's why it's such an important better together moment right now. What this actually means for the MSPs is that they will have the support and an understanding of what good means in the market, accreditation and recognition within the customer environment so the customer also knows what what they can expect. So this whole concept of applying standards to the work of the MSP, especially in AI, is something that hasn't really been tackled to date. Even though standard bodies like the International Standards Organizations exist, and they have deployed a standard like 42,001, which is very unknown within the channel and and difficult for the channel to apply. So we'll be using existing standards, but then we'll be creating playbooks and crosswalks to enable partners to effectively deploy sustainable practices and responsible practices in terms of deploying AI in the customer environment. And I think it's an amazing opportunity. Right? Because we all know in the ecosystem that it has to be there, that it has to get there. But I think the majority of the MSPs, they don't have the space and the time or the resources to actually get it done. Right? Exactly. And that's why I think that a conference like this one and the announcements that have been made today are so incredibly important because they give they give the MSPs, in general, a sense of community and support, which is essential. And and then, specifically, the Managed Intelligence Alliance will be providing this framework that they can really lean into. But not only they can also participate in actually forming it and forming the the rules of engagement, defining together with GTIA the standards. So the whole thing is designed and governed in a vendor neutral manner. So GTIA is a a global nonprofit organization that has vendor neutrality really in its DNA. Yeah. And it has to be because standards have got to be originated from a vendor neutral perspective. So we have an executive council. The next step really in the agenda over the next couple of weeks, I'll be standing up the executive council, convening it. And then the... Immediately after, we'll put together a technical steering committee that will start to create working groups that will focus on standards, capability standards, and and enabling the industry to basically go through this transformation in a very sound and well thought out manner. Yeah. So if we look twelve months from now, what does success look like for the alliance? Twelve... In twelve months from now, we'll see... First of all, I have to be careful not to overpromise and under deliver because what we're doing here is a mammoth undertaking. We're talking about enabling the world in the most vulnerable part of the industry, which is the SMB. We're we're talking about enabling the SMB buyer to be able to buy confidently and knowledgeably from a knowledgeable and structured MSP community. So that that is the ultimate goal and objective is to have a thriving economy with MSPs that thrive by selling managed IT solutions and services across the world. Within twelve months from now, we will have engaged, we will have published some specifications, some profiles, potentially some early versions of standards. We will have grouped the industry together. Everybody will know what is going on. There'll be a lot of convening. All of the GTIA members are welcome in the working groups. We'll also, quite likely, and there'll be a decision for the executive council, but creates open working groups as well to get as much buy in as possible. So twelve months from now, we will be at the dawn of, let's say, the deliverable period of what the alliance will do. We'll be able to start to provide the structure, provide the framework that will enable MSPs to actually prosper confidently in the AI world.
